For the seventh year, Jack and Jill Childcare Families, Children, and Staff will participate in The Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive in cooperation with Scholastic Book Club. The Pajama Program is a nonprofit organization providing new pajamas and books to children in need, especially those living in group homes, shelters, foster care, or orphanages.
You can help to make a better bedtime for these children by simply donating a new pair of pajamas. Scholastic Book Clubs will then match your donation with a brand new book for the child!
If you would like to participate, please drop your pjs in the designated area at each center. Donations will be accepted between:
Wednesday, November 28th and Wednesday, December 12th.
Our goal is to collect 200 pairs of pajamas at each center.
Guideline for donating:
- Pajamas must be brand new
- Pajamas in all sizes are needed-from newborn to adult
- Pajamas must be in complete sets or nightgowns
- Pajamas in children’s sizes must be manufactured as pajamas to ensure they are flame retardant and safe
In celebration of everyone’s hard work, we will be holding special ‘All school pajama days’ on the following * Wednesdays:
November 28th, December 5th & December 12th
These are great days to make your donation and talk with your children about the spirit of giving. At school, we will be talking about why we wore special pajamas too. On these dates please make sure that your child ready for a typical day wearing closed toed school shoes and boots for outside. No slippers, please. For more information, visit www.pajamaprogram.org.
