June 2024 Newletter
Dear Jack & Jill Families:
St Anthony Families, we sincerely thank you for your patience in the past few weeks with the construction of our staff educational and training center. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
We hope families are enjoying the warm weather and continue to enjoy the first days of summer. We wanted to provide a few reminders for drop off and pick up in the mornings and afternoons to create the safest environment for all the children in our program.
Friendly Reminders:
Our program license controls the morning drop off time we are able to receive children in the morning. Kindly remember St Anthony opens at 7:00 am and Blaine opens at 6:30 am. Please keep this in mind for your morning drop off.
Children should be in attendance by 8:30 am for breakfast service. Children arriving after this time should have breakfast taken care of at home. This allows our classroom schedule to begin promptly at 9:00 am. With the warmer weather upon us, it is important to stick to the daily schedule so the younger children get their morning outdoor time in before it may be too warm. Thank you for your understanding.
Children should not be left without adult supervision in our center at any time. You may not leave your child at the lockers while dropping off your other child or at the door to walk in by themselves.
For families with multiple children, we recommend dropping off the oldest child first.
We ask families not to enter into the classrooms during drop off or pick up.
Children should not run in the hallways, on the sidewalk, or in the parking lot. We ask that you please help support our home to school connection during pick up and drop times with your children by encouraging proper hallway conduct.
The equipment in the hallway, including the buggies for infants, are not meant for children to climb in and play with at drop off and pick up. We ask families to partner with us by having children refrain from playing on this equipment.
Due to being a tree nut facility, we cannot allow outside food to be eaten anywhere in the facility by children, including the hallways. Your child should finish any food before entering the facility
We strive to have a stronger home to school connection by working together we create a successful and safe place for our kids to learn and play

News from our Health Nurse - June 2024
Happy Summer! Our public health nurse wanted to share some summer safety reminders and tips:
1. Sunscreen: Weather permitting, it is our goal that all children get outside twice per day to enjoy the fresh air and participate in large motor exercise. This includes our babies too! In order to keep your child protected from the sun, please assist us with the following:
Please bring a bottle of lotion style sunscreen (non-aerosol) for your child, labeled with first and last name. MN DHS Public Health Regulations do not permit aerosol sprays.
Please apply the first layer of sunscreen in the morning, prior to drop off. (We will apply a second layer after rest time, prior to going outside.)
Please dress your child for the weather! Sun hats are excellent-especially for the younger children.
2. With the combination of the warmer weather and all the rain, tick season is predicted to be bad this year. Ticks do not pose an immediate or potential life-threatening emergency like the stinger of a bee could pose, therefore cannot be removed by staff at the center. In the case of a tick being found parents will be called and they can come and remove, or we can put a band-aid over it and parents can remove at home.
3. All children must wear closed toed shoes and socks to school each day. We also ask that children do not wear crocs. Unfortunately, we have found that children wearing crocs and flip flops often trip and fall because of shoes not staying on correctly. Children’s feet also become easily irritated by the woodchips when not wearing socks. Thank you for your understanding and help in keeping everyone safe and comfortable this summer.
JJ's Jam Children Return!
Starting Monday 6/10, the JJ’s Jam Summer Program fully begins, and all the school agers will return for the summer. Be aware that this will mean more cars and traffic in the parking lot during drop-off and pick-up each day so please be extra patient and careful in the parking lot.
